Dr. Fiona Lithander

Dr. Fiona Lithander (formerly Leahy) has research interests that include the acute and long term effects of dietary nutrients on serum and non-serum makers of metabolic diseases, the link between obesity and inflammation, appetite regulation and more recently, nutrition and HIV treatment outcome in the developing world.

Fiona collaborates with national and international colleagues on a number of intervention studies on which she is Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator. She carried out her PhD at the University of Cambridge and post-doctoral training at the University of Auckland.

Fiona is a Registered Nutritionist (Nutrition Society, UK), an Adjunct Associate Professor at Trinity College Dublin and has significant teaching experience in the area of nutritional physiology.
