Dr. Andreas Chatzidakis

Andreas Chatzidakis received his PhD from the University of Nottingham in September 2007 and is currently a senior lecturer in marketing at the School of Management, Royal Holloway, University of London and former deputy director of the School’s Centre for Research into Sustainability. His research focuses on the intersection of consumption with ethics and politics, drawing on a range of perspectives from human geography, sociology and psychoanalysis. He has published widely in journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Behaviour and ßJournal of Sociology of Health and Illness. 

He is currently co-editor of Marketing Theory and senior editor of CITY journal. Ongoing projects include an ethnographic study of consumer activism in crisis-hit Athens and the development of interdisciplinary understandings of sustainability and ethics in consumption including an ESRC-funded seminar series (with Prof Deirdre Shaw, Dr Michal Carrington and Ms Helen Goworek), an edited book (with Prof Deirdre Shaw and Dr Michal Carrington) and several journal articles.
