Jane Feeney

Jane Feeney is a Research Assistant with SHARECITY.

Jane carried out her PhD at the Geography Department in Trinity College Dublin. Her research project, funded by the Irish Research Council, was entitled ‘Environmental offsets in Colombia: policy, practice and conflicts’. Her research interests include political ecology, biodiversity conservation and environmental conflicts, values and ethics. Jane has held visiting research fellowships at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá (2018), at the University of Western Australia and RMIT University, Melbourne (CEED Visiting Fellowships Programme 2017), and an internship at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Leonardo da Vinci Programme 2014).

Aside from her academic experience, Jane brings with her eight years’ international multi-sector experience, working with communications agencies in London and Barcelona and with an NGO in Bhubaneswar, India. She has worked with clients in the private and international development sectors, managing communications projects, digital marketing campaigns and audiovisual content production, including on topics such as climate change, migration and the sustainable development goals. She has also worked as a freelance copy editor and consultant with NGOs and activists, supporting the dissemination of critical news and research on human rights, gender equality and conflict dynamics.
