As part of SHARECITY we will hold six Sharing Labs (essentially expert master classes) around some key methodological and conceptual challenges in the project. The first of these is focused on our global food sharing database and we are delighted that Dr. Vanesa Castán Broto has accepted our invitation to host this particular Sharing Lab. She will discuss her previous work as well provide a workshop for the SHARECITY team on database creation, management and analysis.
Vanesa Castán Broto is a senior lecturer at the Bartlett Development Planning Unit, University College London. She conducts research on climate change governance, sustainable cities, energy and society and sustainability innovation and currently leads an ESRC Future Research Leaders project called ‘Mapping Urban Energy Landscapes’. Vanesa has an interdisciplinary background on engineering and sociology. She has an interest on applied research, having worked closely with organizations such as DFID, UN-Habitat and the Overseas Development Institute.
Please check out our blog post about this Sharing Lab for a summary of what was discussed and what we learned.
